Installing Jenkins 

On Ubuntu:

sudo sh -c ‘echo deb https://pkg.jenkins.io/debian-stable binary/ > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/jenkins.list’ 
sudo apt update 
sudo apt install jenkins 
sudo systemctl start jenkins 

Visit http://localhost:8080 and follow the setup wizard. 

Key Jenkins Concepts 

  • Job: A unit of work (build + test + deploy). 
  • Build Trigger: What starts the job (for example, a Git push, CRON, or webhook).
  • Pipeline: Defines the steps of the software delivery process.
  • Agent: The machine where builds run.
  • Stage: A block inside the pipeline for each step (for example, Build or Test).

Create a Jenkinsfile in your repo:
